So I was bored reading about how Nedved has played well enough to make the team (IT MAKES NO SENSE, but thats for another time.) Instead, I got an idea to see how and if the Columbus fans are reacting at all to Zherdev. They are. Over at Light the Lamp, the writer posted the Larry Brooks article that revolved around Zherdev being lazy. The comments were pretty interesting. It seems to me that most of the fans want him to do well but don't think he's going to make it. An anonymus fan posted this:
Yep, that's Zherdev. I can just picture his toe-drag just inside the blueline. How many times did we see that!!! Rangers fans are far more unforgiving than the jackets faithful were and if this kid doesn't smarten up (which I doubt he will before the season starts) he is going to get run out of town and Sather won't be too far behind!
Well, ignoring the jackets' faithful (cause there are probably about 15 of them) and the lack of grammar I got a little laugh out of this. Zherdev having a patented "toe-drag" can't be a good thing. I fear that Zherdev tries to be too flashy. We need him to score goals. I don't care how, just get the puck in the net.
